Personal Blogs – What Good is a Blog If You Can’t Monetize It?
September 14, 2010 by wpautoblog
When I tell people that I have more traffic at my personal blog than I do at all of my niche blogs combined their response is always – “So what? What good is a personal blog? You can’t monetize it?” And that’s where I think a lot of niche bloggers make their biggest mistake. I not only have more traffic at my personal blog, it’s how I make my living. My personal blog pays my bills.
I agree that a niche blog can make you some pretty decent money. But only if you bring in the traffic. And it has to be targeted traffic, too. If you’re niche blogging about Yoga you can have thousands of people a day visit your blog and not one of them will be interested in buying that $97 eBook you’re trying to push about Niche Blogging For Profit because all they want is Yoga information.
The thing about niche blogging is that you have to spend so much of your energy concentrating on keywords and SEO and finding the right product that you often forget to concentrate on the actual content of your blog posts. Especially if you’re new to niche blogging. And if writing is difficult for you anyway, it’s even tougher when you’re trying to concentrate on getting all of your keywords into all the right places. By the time you’re done your blog post sounds like it was written by a five year old or a robot and that’s not going to keep your traffic on the page.
We’ve heard it said a million times that Content Is King. But Content does NOT equal Keywords. Content is your message – it just happens to include keywords when you’re niche blogging. And keywords, when repeated often enough, can get to be a little bit monotonous. Like a robot!
Think about the blogs that you like to visit. Most of the blogs that I go to on a regular basis are personal blogs. They may be based around a central topic like fashion or cupcakes or school, but they don’t have any particular keywords or SEO structure to them. They’re just fun, interesting blogs. That I visit three or four times a week.
Yet these personal blogs I visit are all monetized in one way or another and they all get tons of traffic. They don’t have AdSense ads, they don’t have a bunch of flashing banner ads but they all make money – and some of them make a lot. And it’s because they have tons of traffic.
Now these are personal blogs and most of them didn’t start out with the idea of making money with their blogs, they just started out to have fun with a blog. Their content, since they don’t have to concentrate on keywords and SEO, is entertaining and informative and it gives their visitors some kind of an idea about who they’re actually reading. It’s not just regurgitated streams of information. It’s a glimpse into the personal style and life of each blogger. Their content forms a connection with each of their readers and the readers return post after post.
Look at the way you yourself surf the net. Do you have a niche blog that you visit on a regular basis because it’s so fun and interesting to read? Chances are – you DON’T. That’s because most niche blogs are nothing but post after post of regurgitated information presented in a robotic tone with maybe a little sugar on top but most times not. So if YOU wouldn’t visit your blog every day, how can you expect someone else to?
So how DO you make money with a personal blog? How do you even get someone to visit a personal blog? I promote my personal blog the same way I do my niche blogs. I belong to a couple of forums, I do article marketing, I have an opt-in form and I do giveaways all the time and then I promote to my list, I do bookmarking, etc.
But I don’t worry about keywords or on-page SEO and I write about the topics that I want to write about. I use lots of music videos and polls to keep my visitors interested and keep my blog light and fun. And I’ve monetized my blog by using it to promote my writing. I’m a freelance writer and I do eBooks and articles for people. So when someone asks me how my blog is monetized, I just point to the page. But I didn’t even think about using it as a promotional tool until I realized how much traffic I was getting.
The biggest mistake most niche bloggers make is to worry about monetizing their blog. It doesn’t matter what product you’re promoting or how much effort you put into promoting it if you don’t have the traffic to buy it. And it’s estimated that your traffic will have to see your offer at least 7 times before they actually pony up and buy it. Are each of your visitors coming back to your blog at least 7 times? If not, then you need to take a look at your content – not your product, not your keywords and not your SEO. Look at your message and make sure it sounds like something YOU would like to hear. When you treat your niche blog more like a personal blog your visitors will start coming back for more!

September 6, 2010 by wpautoblog
How long does it take you to build blogs? A day per blog? A week? Well, it takes me an hour – 15 minutes to be exact – and it’s all thanks to Andrew Hansen’s software for online marketers: Firepow. But speed of website creation isn’t the only reason I’d be lost without this blogging system. Here are the 6 ways Firepow lets me build blogs for cash.
1. It Installs
WordPress is installed automatically onto as many domains as you have. You won’t have to worry about managing the WordPress admin of all your blogs. Whether you have 15 or 50, you can manage them all from within Firepow, under one control panel. Pretty cool, eh?
2. It Optimizes
Firepow 2.0 makes loads of exclusive, custom plugins and themes available to members. These plugins and themes optimize blogs and can be downloaded, configured, and activated with a click or two of your mouse!
3. It Adds
Content, that is. Firepow lets you find highly targeted, relevant content on any topic and add it to your blog – with proper credits, of course.
4. It Promotes
Built-in systems for blog promotion are available, among them automated RSS submission and automated social bookmarking.
5. It Provides Stats
From within the software, you can check how you rank for certain keywords, what the links that come back to your blogs are, and what the statistics of your competitors are.
6. It Creates Tasks
Don’t know how to go about the creation of 15 niche blogs? It doesn’t matter whether you plan to pitch affiliate programs or target AdSense. You simply “tell” Firepow this plan and it will come up with a list of the tasks you will have to do to make your plan come true!
Finally, Firepow 2.0′s system provides excellent support. Aside from live support that is available at all hours of the day, you will be provided a blueprint for how to build blogs the Firepow way. The great thing about this blueprint? It walks you through the process from the first step to the finish!

A 4-Step System for Uncovering Hot Niche Markets
September 4, 2010 by wpautoblog
Whether you are an affiliate marketer, a website
designer or you make your living creating and
marketing infoproducts such as ebooks, discovering
profitable niche markets to exploit is probably at the
top of your “to-do” list. The following is a four-step
system you can apply anytime you need to find a new
niche audience to target and profit from.
1. Initial Brainstorming
This first step is best approached with a very open
mind and a notebook and pen handy. The idea is to seek
topics that are outside your current realm of
knowledge. One of the best ways to do this is by
reading blogs.
Bloggers come from every walk of life, and you will
find blogs with information on almost any niche topic
imaginable. Best of all, bloggers provide fresh,
timely information.
Start spending some time reading some random blogs. A
good starting place would be at blog directories such
as Blogdex – http://www.blogdex.net . As you are
reading, you’ll discover many different topics being
discussed. Many of these you may have never heard of
before. Start writing these down.
Example: You found yourself reading a blog post that
described the blogger’s recent experience at a
demolition derby. Maybe you don’t know much yourself
about this niche, so you add “demolition derby” to
your list.
2. Keyword Research
Once you have a list of several possible niches, the
next step is to find out what keywords and keyword
phrases people are using to search for this and
related information via the major search engines. Good
Keywords -http://www.goodkeywords.com for example, is
a free Windows software you can download that will
help you do just this. With this program, you can
type-in a topic from your list and the software will
begin to uncover many related keyword phrases being
actively searched for.
It takes time to get the hang of this software, but
once you master it you will be able to generate large
and valuable keyword lists. After you uncover at least
a few dozen related keyword phrases, save your list and
move onto the next step. If you are not able to
uncover many related keyword phrases, chances are
there is not much potential here and you should start
over with another topic from step one.
Example: Using Good Keywords or a similar tool, you
enter the term “demolition derby”. You soon have a
large list of related keyword phrases people have been
using to search for information on this topic, such as
“demolition derby video” and “demolition derby car for
sale”.
3. Secondary Idea Creation
Read through the keyword list you generated. Some of
your keyword phrases are going to give you ideas for
other target audiences you may want to explore in the
future. Take some time now to write these new ideas
down while they are still fresh in your mind. Save
this information for later reference. You can never
have enough fresh ideas to explore when trying to
uncover under-exploited niche markets.
Example: One of the keyword phrases in your
“demolition derby” list was “demolition derby game
online” – you note that later you should explore what
other types of online games people are searching for.
4. Niche Potential Analysis
If you used Good Keywords to mine for keyword
phrases, you will have also been provided with an
approximate number of times each of these terms was
searched for during the past month. The next thing you
need to do is compare this number, representing
potential search engine traffic, with the number of
websites already catering directly to these searches.
To do this, start by taking your keyword phrases and
do an exact phrases search on each of them at Google,
making certain to surround your keyword phrase in
quotes. Write down the number of results google brings
back for your search. Next, compare the number of
monthly searches for each phrase to the number of
Google results.
If you are lucky, you will discover that some of your
keyword phrases with good monthly traffic don’t have
many results in the search engines yet. If you find
that you have uncovered a niche that has several
keyword phrases with a high number of monthly searches
and at least a few of them have a low number of
results in Google, chances are you have found a very
good niche to exploit with your next online project.
If not, go back to the list you created in step one
and repeat the process.
Example: You discover that the phrase “demolition
derby car for sale” is searched for around 700 times
monthly, but brings back only 486 results in Google
and the term “demoliton derby pic” receives several
hundred searches a month but only returns 258 results
in Google. You are very happy to have discovered a
potentially hot niche with good under-exploited
keyword phrases to target.
Although there are several costly and difficult to
master programs available that can help you discover
unique target markets, the system above has
proven to be an effective free method for uncovering
niches to profit from. Apply it today and be on your
way to niche marketing success.

5 Popular Blog Styles Favored by Readers
September 4, 2010 by wpautoblog
Developing a popular blog takes time and patience. Of course when creating a blog it is always a good idea to establish your objectives. What is it you are going to write about and how will you deliver this information to the blog reader? Looking around online there are many popular blogs that serve different purposes and utilize varying styles of content delivery. Here are 5 of the most popular blogging styles found on the internet today.
Resource Blogs
Some blogs are designed with the intention to serve as a platform for information to help others locate various resources that are relative to a particular niche. Now the blogger is usually not the one who created these resources but simply located them. The site itself is use to dispense the location of theses resources to the blog reader.
Authority Blogs
These sites are built upon the expertise and/or research efforts of the blogger that focuses on a particular field or subject. The content found here is normally extensive and the site is usually considered a reliable source for this type information. When creating a blog like this it is best to be very well informed about the subject matter or very passionate about researching it.
Social ‘Butterfly’ Blogs
The blogger with a site like this is able to maintain a presence at several online communities within the niche. Although they may not be the top expert in their field they probably know the person who is and how to contact them. These type bloggers are very high profile and are normally very active within the community both on and offline.
Media Blogs
A blog like this routinely utilizes different multi media tools ranging from audio, video and text to present their content. If there is a new media ‘tool’ to be found it will likely be found at a site like this first.
Braking News Blogs
Depending upon the niche, blogs dedicated to delivering news updates or breaking news to the blog reader depend upon timeliness. Their ability to stay ‘connected’ is what sets them apart from the rest. Being able to be the first to consistently deliver accurate and timely news in any niche will almost certainly make yours one of the most popular blogs within that niche.
For anyone interested in developing a popular blog the first step is to always establish what your objectives are going to be. Determination of the niche is a beginning but you must also establish what your intentions are within the niche you select. At this point you are now considering the blog reader and how they would best like to view the content you produce. Most of the popular blogs online have adopted certain styles which have helped gain them their popularity with the blog reader.
The 5 styles we reviewed above may differ greatly in their intent and delivery but all 5 are very well received by readers. This list serves as suggestions from which you may choose to alter and utilize for your own particular needs and purposes. By placing the stamp of your personality upon any of these styles you are now creating a blog that is uniquely you!

How to Create a Profitable Niche Blog Within 1 Day
September 1, 2010 by wpautoblog
Creating profitable niche blogs are now widely used by online marketers as a way to promote their online businesses. Niche marketing has long been hailed by small-time affiliates and even gurus as the way to profit. Undiscovered niches offer little competition and are easier to conquer and definitely ideal for everyone. This article offers some quick steps to creating a profitable niche blog within one day. Imagine how many of such sites can you create in a month and how much you can profit from that!
Step 1 – Finding a Good Niche and Products
Brainstorm a few ideas, and dig deep into each of the ideas with keyword research tools like Overture, WordTracker and NicheBot Classic. Your goal is to find one with decent number of searches ie there must be sufficient demand.
Target one with a search count above 300 at Overture. Once you find some of these ideas, head to do an allintitle search at Google. Type “allintitle: yourkeyword” into the search box and start it rolling. If the number of search results is lower than 500 to 700, then you have hit the jackpot. We have found our target niche.
Next, it is time to search for a product to promote as an affiliate. If you already have a product with private label rights or resell rights collecting dusk in your hard drive, you may sell these on your blog. Otherwise, head to the affiliate marketplaces like ClickBank, Commission Junction and so on. Another quick tip is to Google “yourniche + affiliate program” to find a suitable affiliate product to promote.
Step 2 – Choosing a Blogging Platform
There are dozens of blogs you can use, but I would advise you to use either Blogger or WordPress. Both have its advantages. Blogger is very simple to use and ideal for first time bloggers. Set up does not take you more than 1 hour and you have a blog ready to go. But do not expect too many features. WordPress on the other hand can offer you a lot more features and there are powerful plug-ins you can find online quite easily.
Name your blog after the target keyword to aim well in the search engines. For example, if your niche keyword is “how to create a blog”, then name your blog as howtocreateablog.blogspot.com.
Use nice graphics from some of the free graphics depositories or stock photo sites like Stock Vault, Every Stock Photo, PublicDomain Photos and so on to decorate your niche blog. If your affiliate program provides great looking banners or book covers, use them!
Step 3 – Creating Content for your Niche Blog
You need good unique content for your blog. Go to Google and search. Take notes at the top 10 websites listed in the search results. Look for at least 6 useful key points.
Now, split the 3 key points into 2. Use each group of 3 to create a single blog post in your own words. Each blog post should contain at least 150 to 200 words and contain the affiliate link to your product. Weave the links into your content so that it looks natural. Ok, now you have your posts ready.
Post the first post to your blog, an introduction post so it may start like “Hello and welcome to my ……blah blah”. Post the subsequent 2 posts at 4 to 5 hour intervals.
Step 4 – Promote Your Blog!
You are now ready to drive tons of traffic to your niche blog! Now, after each post you put on your blog, ping it at Pingomatic. This will announce it to the search engines to visit your site.
You want to also bookmark your posts at the top social bookmarking sites such as Del.icio.us, Stumbleupon, Digg and so on.
Do not forget to find a few blogs related to your niche through Google and start commenting on some of their posts. Target those with a high Page Rank and ranking well in the search engines. Also do the same at related forums.
Finally, write an article and post it to GoArticles and EzineArticles. And wait for targeted traffic and sales to start rolling from Day One. Repeat the traffic driving techniques at least once a week and your Page Rank and sales will grow!
These are the exact steps needed to take your blog from ground zero to becoming a potential automatic money machine that keeps sending you income. For more tips on how I churn out dozens of such machines within 5 minutes per niche blog, check out my secret weapon.

How to Pick a Niche to Blog On
September 1, 2010 by wpautoblog
Picking your blogs niche, is more or less the first thing you should to do when starting a blog, if your currently unaware of what a niche is, then a niche is very similar to a topic, for example, “I have blogs in the animal niche”, “I have blogs about animals” – That’s probably the easiest way to understand what a niche is.
The niche of your blog is in fact very important, blogging isn’t something you’ll be making money from quickly, you generally need to have constant updates of blog posts, generally 1 post every 2-3 days is good, I personally post at least once a day, as you may of already seen. You need to figure out if your going to be able to write about this niche, which brings us on to the next part.
What do you enjoy? What would you enjoy writing about? Just brainstorm a few ideas about blog niches you could go into, then consider the fact you’ll need to be writing about the same topic for a few years (If you wish to, which you will if you want to make serious money) – Once you’ve figured out roughly what niches you’d like to go in, that you can write content for.
Brainstorm some article ideas for this niche – What could you write about? What else could you do? See how easily you come up with ideas, if you generally don’t stop, constantly thinking of new post topics, then this niche is probably a good way to go, as you seem to have a lot of ideas for the niche.

Legal Blogs – The Nigerian Phenomenon
August 29, 2010 by wpautoblog
In the past two decades, blogs have almost completely taken over the World Wide Web. Most internet users find themselves going to blogs for information and articles on practically any topic as there are niche blogs in virtually every field. This explosive revolution has swept through every region of the world from Addis Ababa to Zurich.
Browsing through the internet in search of legal blogs from Africa, it is interesting to note that those coming out of Nigeria are pretty non-existent. Compared with countries such as Egypt, South Africa and Kenya, the indication is disheartening. The paradox lies in the fact that as of June 2009, Nigeria had the second largest number of online users, next to Egypt (internetwolrdstats.com). With over 40,000 qualified legal practitioners, it becomes a little mystifying why there is such a dearth of legal blogs coming out of Nigeria. A number of factors are responsible for this.
The rapid development of internet technology is a major factor. Even though Nigerians spend a lot of time on the internet, many have not evolved beyond the use of emails, Chat Rooms and a handful of websites although with the popularity of facebook, quite a number have made the migration to social networks. Nevertheless, blogging remains shrouded in obscurity.
Needless to say, there are a lot of lawyers in Nigeria who are internet savvy and some who have even delved into the world of web development but are still ignorant of the workings of blogs. Because they have no idea how a blog works or where the advantages of blogging lie, they have developed little interest in the blogosphere as a whole. This laissez-faire attitude has contributed far more to the near absence of legal blogs in Nigeria.
When all is said and done though, there are a few legal blogs around, although not enough to adequately represent the legal profession in Nigeria — but as the Nigerian Bar Association has gone digital, it might not be long before its members follow suit.

Steps on Creating a Successful Blog
August 28, 2010 by wpautoblog

Blogs are just a series of posts where the most recent entry is at the top of the page. Blogs are usually used for free writing to get your thoughts and knowledge out onto the internet. A blog cannot be used for eCommerce purposes – you can’t set up a shopping cart or send out newsletters; but you can use your blog to keep visitors up to date on any changes to your business’ website.
Before you start anything, you have to decide what your blog is going to be used for: marketing, a niche blog, or free writing? Once you have decided this, you need to choose a blogging platform. Blogger and WordPress are the two best ones available. Their blogs are easy to create and are normally optimized for search engines – so that your blog gets into the search engines.
If you are a beginner, Blogger is the easier platform of the two to use to create a blog.
Writing a blog is not difficult – once you have chosen your focus and niche. You just have to make sure that it is updated regularly. It needs to be focused and simple. Don’t make your posts too long, as your readers may not be inclined to read too much – especially when your blog is new.
Some good things to add to your site are “Likes” buttons for your readers to click when they like a certain post. Comments boxes are great too and will provide great feedback for you. Also add RSS as it will bring more traffic and gives you a good backlink. You can also incorporate Google Adsense to generate some income from your blog.
Keep in mind you won’t get thousands or even hundreds of visitors overnight. You have to be patient. Nurture the blog that you have created, and let it grow. A blog is like a savings account, the more you add to it, the more value it gets.

Building a blog designed to create income takes much more than simply putting it up. Too many people make the mistake of believing the old saying “if you build it – they will come.” Getting targeted traffic to your blog is something that takes a lot of effort. A good looking blog with a catchy title and appealing brand isn’t enough to guarantee massive traffic every day. The majority of bloggers are very active when it comes to spreading the word about their blog in order to keep the momentum going and keep the profits up. It takes time, discipline and dedication. There is a solution that makes all of this much easier – FirePow. FirePow is blogging software that gives you everything you need to create and manage your blogs, and promote them in order to generate traffic. It’s the complete blogging system. In this review article we will be looking at what makes this software click and why you should use it for your blog.
So what makes the FirePow system so groundbreaking and powerful? It takes care of WordPress installation on every domain you want it to. FirePow takes care of the whole process, with no limit to the amount of domains you can add to it. As you will be managing everything to do with your blog within the FirePow system, it makes sense to also manage your WordPress admin from it too, and this is possible. In addition, your blogs are turbo charged with the latest and greatest WordPress plugins on the market, and there are even ones created exclusively for the FirePow user base. These plugins carry great power, and there’s no doubt they would spread like wildfire if they were publicly available. You don’t have to worry about this though, as they are only available to FirePow users. Apart from this, it also allows you to easily view themes and install them. Browsing for hours trying to find themes you like is a thing of the past as there are many preloaded into the system. What’s more, FirePow even includes a superb theme generator (currently in BETA stage). This generator allows you the freedom to create your own custom WordPress theme.
Locating useful plugins for your blogs can eat up a lot of time. After you’ve found all the plugins you think you’ll need, then there’s the installation process. But FirePow will do this for you, and it will optimize your blogs the plugins you need. Another exclusive benefit for FirePow members only is the availability of plugins only for members. All FirePow custom plugins have been kept within the membership, so you’ll have a little more of an edge over the competition. All of your blog themes are maintained in the FirePow members area, so you can pick and install your themes at your convenience. Not everyone wants a theme someone else may have, but creating a theme will require finding a blog coder. Well, FirePow has you covered again with its theme generator – so you can stay one step ahead of the competition. Along with the FirePow system you also get a few other benefits, such as the FirePow Success Blueprint, which gives you a unique niche marketing strategy that is highly profitable when used along with the system. Our Success Blueprint will train you to take action like a marketer, and you’ll really love the section about keyword research.
All in all, this software is going to help you get the most out of your time. Many people earn money by setting up 10 to 15 blogs and drive traffic to them all. This becomes daunting after a while because of the overwhelming amount of work. Users of FirePow don’t have this problem, as they can maintain all their blogs through one easy to use control panel. Want to know what the best part is? The whole thing is automated. No more hunting for RSS feeds or looking for Meta data.
FirePow packs a mighty punch.
