Chrysler Group is recalling about 62,400 vehicles because their braking system may fail to work. Among the vehicles to be recalled are the 2007 Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep vehicles.

The recall is specifically includes 62,369 model year 2007 Chrysler Sebring, Chrysler 300, Jeep Commander, Jeep Compass, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Jeep Liberty, Jeep Wrangler, Dodge Nitro, Dodge Magnum, Dodge Charger and Dodge Caliber vehicles to fix the brake system Electronic Control Unit computer.

The instrument panel warning lamps of the aforementioned vehicles may illuminate and be followed by failure of Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), anti-lock brake system, traction control and speedometer functions. The failure could lead to loss of control.

No injuries and fatalities have been reported due to the brake system failure. The owners of the affected vehicles will be notified in February next year. For the meantime, customers experiencing warning lamp illumination should take their vehicles to a certified Chrysler dealer for the necessary inspection.

The brake system plays a significant role in the performance of the vehicle as well as in the safety of the occupants. The brake pedal, which is attached to the brake cylinder, can be an indicator of serious vehicle problems like leaks and uneven pads. The combination valve must also work together properly. The valve helps regulate pressure. The wheel cylinder is also deemed a critical element in the drum brake assembly. It contains pistons that thrust the shoes against the drums when slowing down. The drum brake assembly is used to take the rear wheels of most wheels to a stop. Disc Brake assembly, on one hand, absorbs more heat than the drum brake. These parts contribute to the efficiency of the vehicles.

Chrysler Group is an American automaker that has existed independently from 1925 to 1998. The automaker has already established remarkable and popular vehicles. It is also famed for its Dodge genuine auto body parts. Jeep vehicles are also phenomenal. In addition, Jeep Cherokee auto body parts are well-regarded in the auto industry.

On the other side of the automotive realm, General Motors will be expanding a recall of its SUVs and pickups. In all there are 1,357,000 vehicles form part of the GM recall. Said recall is due to the malfunction of the anti-lock brake system integrated to GMC and Chevrolet body parts. Affected vehicles include GMC Sierra, Yukon, Yukon XL, Chevrolet Avalanche, Silverado, Suburban and Tahoe.

I’m sure we all know exactly what the emotion of anger is and we’ve certainly all felt it either dwell or even rage inside of us.

Anger itself is not bad; it is part of our emotional armour from back in our past mental “fight or flight” stage. Much like stress, anger can give us the motivation to get up and do something but anger, if not dealt with, can grow into an extremely destructive force. It can become both verbally and physically harmful to yourself and others. To cope with your anger your first need to accept the cause.

What is it that makes you angry? – Is it being ignored? Shouted at? Treated poorly in comparison to others? Mistakes you’ve made? Mistakes others have made? Feeling humiliated? Criticism? Others being angry with you?

Who are you most commonly angry with? – Your partner? Your children? Family? Friends? Work colleagues? Strangers?

How do you express your anger? – Do you ignore it all together, or until you “blow up”? Blame others? Violent thoughts?

Who are you comfortable with expression your anger? – Your partner? A close neighbour or friend? A parent? No-one?

To cope with anger, first you have to accept responsibility for your anger. Instead of thinking “you/they made me angry” say to yourself “I am angry”. You see it is not other people who make you angry, it may have been something they said or did, but it is you who responds to these actions in a “negative” away. In my last article, I described the power of Creative Commons (CC) licensing and how to use it to your advantage to find high quality pictures to make your blog or website more compelling. In order to take advantage of the vast collection of freely distributable CC content you can find on sites like Flickr, however, you need to attribute that content back to the author, and describe the license that the author has granted for that piece of content. According to CreativeCommons.org, that license will fall into one of four categories, or a combination :

“Attribution: You let others copy, distribute, display, and perform your copyrighted work – and derivative works based upon it – but only if they give credit the way you request.

Noncommercial: You let others copy, distribute, display, and perform your work – and derivative works based upon it – but for noncommercial purposes only.

No Derivative Works: You let others copy, distribute, display, and perform only verbatim copies of your work, not derivative works based upon it.

Share Alike: You allow others to distribute derivative works only under a license identical to the license that governs your work.

Note: A license cannot feature both the Share Alike and No Derivative Works options. The Share Alike requirement applies only to derivative works.”

So now you understand perfectly what to do when you use a CC licensed photo in your blog, right? No? Well, allow me to give you an example. Let’s say you go to Flickr and search their Creative Commons section. You find that adorable picture of a cat dangling from a screen door that would be perfect for Fluffy’s blog. Now what? You have to properly attribute the photo.

How do you do that? Well, according to Creative Commons, if you are using the work without making any changes to it, then you must “keep intact any copyright notices,” credit the author, and provide the URL back to CreativeCommons.org pointing to the license selected. If you are altering the picture (making “derivative use”), then you need to identify that your photo is a derivative work, ie. ‘Photo based on [original work] by [author].”

The best place to do all of this for a photo is in a caption just beneath that cutesy picture of the kitty. If the author specified how you should credit her, be sure to use her language. Otherwise, the caption should begin with something like “Photo by [author].” If you got your picture from Flickr, link back from the name of the photo’s author to their Flickr profile page. And don’t forget to link back to the Creative Commons page for the license you’re using, ie. “Photo by [author] (License: Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs).”

If this seems like a fair amount of work to create the proper attribution, that’s because it is, but hey, you’re getting free creative for your website. And in my next post, I’ll give you some tips for automating the process of creating these captions in Drupal. In the meantime, good hunting!
