Avery Randall-Mable asked:

What is Affiliate Marketing? Affiliate marketing is the marketing technique of selling a product created and distributed by someone else; while receiving commission on every single referred customer. In other words, if you have a website that advertises someone else product; and a customer comes to your website, clicks the link and purchases that product – you receive a split commission.

Affiliate marketing has now became a billion dollar industry and is quickly growing to new heights. If you want to take advantage, it is important that you do so now!

How to integrate it in blog posts?

If you want to integrate affiliate marketing links in your blog posts, you may want to do a fair bit of research to see how the best on the internet do it. How do you find a great blog post? It is simple: you want to go to technorati search, and search tons of different blogs for your enjoyment.

Why is this an excellent method? It’s quite simple; as all the blogs are posted to technorati. It is basically a search engine for blog, and happens to be an integral part of the blogging society. You want to see how they integrate affiliate links; and how they maximize revenue with affiliate links. By knowing how to market products through your blog; you can achieve an incredible amount of success on the internet.

Why you should consider an opt-in form

You should definitely consider an e-mail opt-in form so that you can avoid advertising on your blog. When you advertise on your blog, it can be rather tacky most of the time. However, if you advertise through e-mail it can actually be beneficial. You will have an extremely clean blog that is almost advertisement free.

You will also have continuous affiliate marketing promotions through the e-mail as well. This will help establish an incredible amount of success and give you the ability to achieve an incredible amount of wealth on the internet.

Affiliate Marketing 101 – Plugins For Your Affiliate Marketing Blog

Doug Champigny asked:

As you’re setting up your blog, certain plugins should be added to make your affiliate marketing web site as powerful as possible. Since you only really have full control of your blog plugins on self-hosted blogs, when you start affiliate marketing you want to set up your own WordPress blog on your own hosting account.

Assuming you’ve installed your new blog, it’s time to decide which plugins you’ll want to include to help automate some of your affiliate marketing tasks. No doubt you’d like to start earning affiliate commissions as quickly as possible, so the more you can automate your systems without needing to become too technical the better!

The success of your affiliate marketing blog is dependent on targeted traffic, so the most important plugins are all going to be used to aid in that cause. First, you’ll want to make sure the search engines are aware of every posting you make, so one of the various Search Engine Optimization (SEO) plugins is the first to install. These usually control your title, keyword and description tags and sometimes the URL chosen for each post, so be sure to pick one and install it before you make even your first post to your affiliate blog.

Once your audience and the search engines find your affiliate marketing web site, you’ll want them all to be able to find everything you have for them there. For that, use 1 or 2 plugins designed to create sitemaps. The search engines will want to follow an RSS feed while the visitors will want a simple linking structure, so be sure whichever plugins you use create both an HTML sitemap and an XML sitemap. You don’t need to know the differences or the technical aspects – just be sure your affiliate marketing blogs are sporting both.

You can also get both direct traffic and search engine friendly backlinks to each post using plugins. Use one to notify your Twitter followers each time you post, and be sure your visitors see buttons they can use to let their followers know about your post through Web 2.0 sites like Twitter, Google Buzz and FaceBook at the very minimum. Numerous variations exist of plugins that will link to your affiliate marketing web site from the social bookmarking sites as well, so take time to explore a few and choose the one that’s best for your particular strategies.

Those are the basic plugins you’ll want installed for your affiliate marketing blogs, and with the advances in today’s WordPress system they all install with push-button simplicity – if you’re not familiar with how to install them either check the help files at WordPress.org or search for how-to help at directories like Google or YouTube.

As you become more experienced as an affiliate blogger, you’ll want to install plugins for your audio and video files too, to help attract targeted traffic from the podcasting and vlogging worlds as well – these are huge additional lead sources you may be able to tap into using your affiliate marketing blogs as you advance.

Affiliate Marketing – The Blog

Guy Lavigne asked:

As an affiliate marketer, the blog is a must have. You can make a review of different products or services you offer. You can give some tips and advice to people on how to use this or that product. More, you can stay in contact via the ”comments space”.

There is another reason why the blog is very important even if you already have a web site. It is easier to get a good ranking with a blog than it is with a web site. Search engines, including Google, love blogs.

Instead of trying to obtain a high ranking for your site first, get your blog in top positions. This way you will get visitors to your site more rapidly and it will help your site increases its own ranking. This is a real win-win situation for you.

The blog is more than a blog, it is now a major player on the Internet. Successful marketers and experts realize that years ago and it will be this way for a long time. If you do not have a blog, start one as soon as possible.

A blog generates obligations, you must keep posting on a regular basis, at least once a week. It is not a lot of work, taking 10 to 15 minutes a week to put a new product review or new information about related topics.

A blog is also a very good way to build a list. What ever your niche is, people always want to have news about products or services they like. If you are selling bird seeds, be sure that birds lovers will thank you if you send them an email about a rebate on bird seeds. That is more sales for you.

Put a newsletter sign up form (you can use an auto responder like AWeber or GetResponse to name only two) on your blog and start building a list. Believe that when someone joins your list, it is because that person is ready to buy.

John Hartley asked:

Everyone knows about blogs, but are you using an affiliate marketing blog? I did not do so for quite a while, but now I do.

The reason I did not use an affiliate marketing blog was simply that I wanted a landing page dedicated to a particular product, and you can do that on a blog, but you can’t easily send people to that post, especially if it is not new.

With a web site, which you need really for affiliate marketing, it is a simple matter to have one page or folder for each product, and you can send people right there. On the other hand, though, affiliate marketing blogs have a lot of advantages. Here are a few:

They are less formal – you just write what you want to say, and add links;

They get spidered and indexed more quickly than static pages;

You just have one link to the blog;

No html or any other code is needed – just choose a format and go.

The other cool thing about blogs is that do not need your own host. Instead, you can get hosting at either wordpress.com or blogger.com. Some say that because blogger.com is owned by Google its blogs get linked faster. That may be so, but WordPress blogs have some advantages, such as being much more widely used, so people can read them easily as RSS feeds.

Before you set up a blog at either of these sites you need to:

1. Decide on a title for the blog, which could be something like jimsblog or jimsupermarketer. This will be part of the url for the blog. If you have a website you can host your blogger blog there, in which case it gets a different name as a folder on you site.

Because your blog gets spidered quickly, you have a better chance of getting traffic than with a static site – and that is why I recommend you set up an affiliate marketing blog.
